Leading cosmetic scientists are preparing for the international congress of the IFSCC to be held in Barcelona on October 6-9.

The biennial event will bring together more than 1,500 scientists and researchers to discuss the latest advances and trends in beauty product development.

Spanish hosts

The Spanish Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SEQC) will host the congress of the IFSCC (International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists) which will include a conference program with 68 speakers and a technical exhibition.

The conferences feature high profile researchers from leading companies and universities revealing their latest advancements.

The technical exhibition will also provide the opportunity for attendees to make direct contact with testing laboratories and suppliers.

Attendees will likewise be able to consult 311 poster presentations on new technologies and scientific advances.

Scientific themes

These will be organised along scientific themes to allow easy navigation and highlight how the papers fit the current needs of manufacturers and consumers.

The four themes identified include molecular cosmetics, which is the broadest category covering formulation trends and advances in the development of actives and delivery systems.

Other themes include protective strategies, covering new product concepts such as beauty foods, well-being cosmetics, which discusses improvements in the sensory aspects of beauty products and safety in cosmetics.

The 25th IFSCC Congress coinciding with the 50th Anniversary of the Spanish Society of Cosmetic Chemists.
