Bio-Botanica has partnered up with DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Productsto create 'ZeaBasics', a new line of botanical extracts featuring the proprietary ingredient Zemea propanediol.
Zemea, a natural, 100 per cent biobased ingredient made from corn sugar through fermentation and developed for the cosmetics and personal care market is said to be a high-performance, environmentally sustainable alternative to petroleum-based glycols and glycerin.
Bio-Botanica utilizes its proprietary Bio-Chelated process to manufacture the botanical extracts and combines them with Zemea whereby formulators are recommended to consider the combination for natural products.
DuPont and Tate & Lyle, a renewable industrial ingredients company, have been a joint venture for some time having already developed Zemea products before teaming up with Bio-Botanica.
According to DuPont, the function of ZeaBasics is to combine 40 years of botanical extract manufacturing experience from Bio-Botanica with the new technology of Zemea.
