Lovell will replace the current holder of the position, Steve Williams, upon his retirement later this year, the company said in a statement.

In her new position, Lovell will provide counsel to the Unilever Boards and Executive, as well as being in charge of the legal network across the company.

Lovell has worked at Unilever since 1997, prior to which she was employed by legal firm Linklaters.
