Beckmann will take over from Dr. Friedrich Seitz, who is going on to take charge of BASF’s Competence Center Chemicals Research & Engineering operations.
Beckmann has been with BASF since 1992 after starting off in the company’s colourant laboratories. Since then he has held posts at the company’s Petronas Chemicals division in Malaysia and BASF YPC in China.
Since 2006 Beckmann has been back in his native Germany, where he has been responsible for the company’s global procurement of raw materials.
