India-based consumer goods company Dabur India has completed the acquisition of skin care brand Fem, which becomes one the company’s subsidiaries.
It acquired over 70 per cent of Fem Care Pharma in November last year and following regulatory approval has purchased the remaining stake.
According to Dabur CEO Sunil Duggal, the acquisition will strengthen the company’s position in many key categories, help increase top-line growth and achieve cost synergies.
In particular, the acquisition will help Dabur strengthen its position in the personal care market. The company already offers hair and skincare products under the Amla, Vatika and Gulabari brands, but the addition of the Fem line will help build up the skin care sector with an already established brand name.
