BSB Innovation Award winners announced!
The awards are given to innovative offerings in the cosmetics sector in three separate categories: Naturals/ Actives, Functionals/ recipients, and Finished Products.
The winning products
Mibelle Biochemistry won the BSB Innovation Award 2015 in the Naturals/ Actives category for its biologically active heptapeptide PerfectionPeptide P7.
The active stimulates the skin’s own self-defense mechanisms against oxidative stress at the cellular level.
The Finished Products prize went to German manufacturing powerhouse Henkel for its Magic Oil product.
Magic Oil cleanses the skin with a rich foam and the company says it does so without leaving a greasy film on the skin. “The skin feels velvety soft after care with Fa Magic Oil,” says a Henkel claim.
Split prize
In the Functionals/ recipients category the award was split between Oat Cosmetics and Prolabin & Tefram.
Oat Cosmetics was recognised for its Oat lipid e offering which is a multifunctional oil gently extracted from whole oat kernels using cellulose derived ethanol.
The company claims it is a replenishing ingredient, restoring the natural oil balance of damaged skin, and enhances skin and hair feel by hydrating, moisturising and soothing.
The other winner in this category was Italian company Prolabin & Tefram for its Niodor product.
Niodor is a lamellar solid in white powder form with micrometre-sized particles impalpable with high surface area.
It is a product which is aluminium-free and does not involve the use of organic solvents, but only water, helping control chemical purity, morphology, and crystallinity degree of the final product.
Event organisers have also announced that the 14th European BSB Innovation Prize Award Ceremony 2016 will take place next year in April, in Paris.
