Focusing on North America and global markets
“Eyelematic is located in North America, in our second biggest market area after Europe, but this acquisition is targeted mainly at integrating new technology and benefiting from it on a worldwide basis,” said François Luscan, Albéa president & CEO in an exclusive interview with CosmeticsDesign-Europe.
“This acquisition allows Albéa to offer its customers a solution for their metal needs as well as a stronger reactivity to support market demand.”
Following the acquisition Albéa now has capabilities in galvanization, metallization, varnishing, decoration, metal and anodization, enabling to provide packaging capabilities in fragrance, skin care and make-up, worldwide.
Acquisition will help build the company's global platform
The acquisition is part of the company’s strategy to build a global platform that can support its customers across a spectrum of packaging requirements and finished on a global basis.
“In line with this ambition, we actively explore all the opportunities for acquisitions that could bring more value to our customers, either by reinforcing our presence in emerging markets or by enlarging our range of solutions with complementary expertise,” said Luscan.
The company has also indicated that it will remain actively acquisitive in the future, in the search for businesses that can meet these criteria.
Acquisition of Betts Group
The acquisition is the group’s second so far this year, building on the addition of the Betts Group, a specialist plastic and laminate tubes, back in January.
UK-headquartered Betts Group focuses on laminate tubes for the oral care and personal care sector with plants in the UK, Poland, Mexico, India and Indonesia.
According to Albéa, with the purchase of Betts it became the global leader in plastic and laminate tubes.
